As an appointed Jackson County Enforcement Officer, the Jackson County Vector Control District Manager is given authority to investigate and enforce the County's Vector Control Ordinance. This type of action usually remains at the level of discussion and cooperation with landowners that have conditions existing that are considered to be a violation of the codes, but sometimes can result in warnings, citations, and court appearances.

Pamphlets published by Washington State University, and plans for a non-chemical bait trap are offered to homeowners. The District advises in problem situations and in some instances may provide materials for traps.
The District's laboratory performs some limited insect identification service for the general public at no cost. A variety of pamphlets and reprints are available on insects, spiders, rodents, and other mammals.
